![]() ![]() Usually Adobe page numbers are held up as a paragon of consistency. I don't believe compression would mess around with the offsets, and I don't know what other factors you refer to. How do I get page numbers on my Kindle Paperwhite To select page numbers for display, either keep tapping in the lower left corner of the page, or activate the menu, go to Aa option, select Reading progress (or something like that) tab and select from there. The Kindle 1 with its different type of screen probably would not be updated, as the added calculations could slow down more that slower model. Read about it in our Wiki: Adobe_Digital_Editions#Page_numbers Amazon often takes 6 months to get to the old Kindles with updated software and it's been longer than that for some changes that should have been added to the DX Graphite at least. The ISBN number of the original book is displayed on its product information page at. If you have a Kindle 3G, you can view these page numbers by pressing the Menu button. Some readers may use the number of screen pages as the page number but increasing or decreasing the font size changes the number of pages and what page number a passage may appear on. In March, announced that the latest Kindle will display page numbers that correspond to those in the printed original of a digital book. It is also why on some readers depending on font size you may change several screen pages before the page number if displayed at the bottom of a page changes. Those numbers will be in the same place on any given reader (although apparently they can vary slightly between brands due to factors mentioned above) so even at different font sizes you can find the same point. I say roughly speaking because apparently it is technically more complex than this due to compression and other factors. And in further explanation to what AnemicOak said, they represent "virtual" page numbers which are, roughly speaking, based on 1024 characters. ![]()
